The Darien Varsity Girls Lacrosse team traveled to Massapequa, New York for a late-season clash with the Massapequa Chiefs.

While this was the inaugural meeting between these two teams the bigger watch was on Darien’s head coach. Lisa Lindley, in her 29th season, entered play with 499 career wins.

A back-and-forth battle saw the game tied at three apiece early on before Darien blasted off behind multi-goal games from Chloe Humphrey, Sadie Stafford, and Kelly Holmes the Wave took down the Chiefs 17-7.

As the final buzzer rang, the Darien players celebrated and stormed their head coach as she now had 400 Career victories.

Lindley has been leading the Blue Wave since 1994 and has a career record of 500-89 with a remarkable winning percentage of .849.
Coach Lindley has led Darien to 18 FCIAC championships and 18 state titles.
