With course selection in our sights, here are some courses that Neirad writers and DHS Seniors recommend. Check out the list below!
11th grader Winnie Wartels recommends Spanish Film. Wartels said it’s a super chill class where they watch and discuss Spanish movies.
12th grader Emma Meyers recommends Sports Marketing. The class consists of designing posts for the class’s Instagram, writing scripts for the announcements and more. Meyers says, “You can get involved in school sports without being on a sports team!”
12th grader Ali Meyers recommends Critical Approach to Film, or CAF for short, with Mr. Speiser. All grades can take this class where you explore culture and human nature through the lens of film. Meyers attested that her favorite movie she watched in CAF was Lady Bird.
12th grader Sasha Teresko praises AP Biology. When asked why, she responded, “The content is interesting, the labs are fun, and the teachers are nice!” One highlight of the course is playing AP Bio survivor after the AP exam in May. Teresko also remarked that the class was challenging but not impossible.
12th grader Lucy Best suggests Tudor Singers. “It builds a great sense of community, you get to learn a lot about music and it’s a lot of fun!” Best has been able to travel to Florida as a member of the Tudor Singers and will be going to New Orleans this spring.
12th grader Marianne Tsocanos recommends Theatrical Storytelling and Design, taught by Dr. Rejan, to underclassmen. “You learn not only acting but the artistic side of set design, lighting design, costume design and sound design” claims Tsocanos.
Finally, 12th grader Cece Cummins endorses Forensics. She said that her teacher was super nice and you don’t have to be good at science to enjoy the class. “I would take it all over again if I could!”
