The Monster Dash

If you’ve been out and about in Darien over the last month, it is likely you’ve seen an advertisement for the upcoming Monster Dash. But what is it, exactly?

The Monster Dash is a promotional event held annually to raise funds for the Rowayton Library. Much like the Darien Road Race, it’s a family friendly event geared both towards athletes looking for a competitive run and friends and families looking to have fun in their community. The Monster Dash, set to take place on Sunday, October 28 at 9 a.m., fully embraces the spirit of the month. Participants are encouraged to come in costume and prizes will be awarded to the best female and male costumes, along with the fastest female and male runners. Participants can choose to run the 5k or, for those who simply want to enjoy the Halloween spirit and take in the seaside view, a 1 mile walk or “fun run”. Adult tickets are being sold for $40 and children (7-15 years) for $20. Children under 6 run free! Register online now!
