Taylor Swift Announces Speak Now (Taylor’s Version)
Her album of personal, fantastical, and honest songs will be the best thing that’s ever been hers.

Fans have been creating theories and investigating Taylor Swift’s easter eggs for the past two years, eager to know which album she decides to re-record and release next. After several months of walking on clownelia street, especially on 3/13 when we were so sure she would release another album, she announced on May 5th that her third re-recorded album, Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) will be released on July 7th.
Taylor Swift has re-recorded two of her past albums so far after the matter in 2019 and currently owns five albums. Once Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) is released, she will be owning six of them. Taylor Swift will also be welcoming six new tracks from the vault into Speak Now (Taylor’s Version).
The album was announced to be released on May 5th, during the Eras Tour in her first night performing in Nashville, Tennessee. The mastermind continues her tricks by planning this announcement in the place she started her career. Following her announcement, she sang “Sparks Fly”, a perfect way to celebrate this event as the stadium became purple and excitement remained in the air.
Speak Now is a fantastical yet honest album at the same time that Taylor Swift wrote all by herself, with the exception of “If This Was A Movie” (“If This Was A Movie (Taylor’s Version)” which was moved to Fearless (Taylor’s Version) so that Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) would be completely self-written).
The album is strictly focused on growing up, and the emotional emergencies that come with it. She sings about all the different emotions that come with it, frustration, confusion, passion, and many more. Because of how personal this album is to Taylor, in a time when she was growing up being 18-20, being able to own this album now means so much to her knowing she will officially be able to call it her own again.
In contrast to her previous album cover for Speak Now, her new one is similar, yet different. The background is a deep dark purple, and she used her famous curls from 2010 once again.
Since this is a photograph instead of a painting as well, her dress is more realistic and the photo focuses more on her face rather than her entire body. What’s interesting here is that in the previous cover, she was looking the other way and her body was more open to the audience. Now, her shoulder closes her body more. This may suggest that the future she was dreaming about in Speak Now already happened, and instead of looking ahead, she’s reflecting back on it now that she’s re-recording her new album.
If only July 7th could come sooner, Swifties are all awaiting the album’s arrival eagerly. Now that we’ll hear the album in Taylor’s more mature voice, we’ll be seeing the album from a new perspective as she reflects back by recording instead of looking towards the future as a young adult. Her album will truly be the best thing that’s ever been hers.
